1958 Chrome-Plated Zebco Super 22 in Original Cellophane, Box, Papers

  

"Back in the day, " people bought Zebco reels to fish, and fish hard. To find a nearly 65-year-old Zebco reel still in the original cellophane, in the box, with papers is rare. To find this scarce variety of one of Zebco's all-time greats in original packaging is absurdly uncommon. The Model 22, or "Super Zebco" was the company's flagship reel in the early and mid 1950s. It set the standard for all casting rod mounted spincast reels to follow.

This is the scarce, one-year (1958) chrome-plated variety. Zebco only offered the chrome-plated reels for one year because production and warrantee costs proved too high. Through the cellophane, the reel appears to be in perfect condition. This is a Zebco collector's Utopia! Nice condition chrome-plated 22's only rarely come to market.
