Zebco One Early First/second Version Zebco Reel (nice)

  

This Reel I bought in the Early 1970's and I believe is one of the First Productions of the ZEBCO ONE series as evident with the internals having the early style 6 Slotted Screws holding the arbor(All later versions have Phillips Head Screws) , the Pinion Shaft has the slotted screw holding the spring in the end of it (instead of the E-Clip on the later ones). This gear is Stainless Steel and there are 2 BALL BEARINGS in the housing along with the Housing having the Pinned Metal Raised Lettering (ZEBCO ONE HIGH SPEED BALL BEARING), the others don't have this or have it Embossed in the Housing not a metal tag pinned to it or plastic sticker.

The Ring Gear is BRASS. The Spinner Head having the Separate Slotted Knurled NUT holding it on instead of the retainer being incorporated in the spinner itself, the covers have the 4 slotted de-tents to hold them to the housing thus making it one of the First versions IN MY OPINION. I don't want to ARGUE about my opinion but it is what it is and up for sale. This Reel is in Excellent working condition and the covers fit nice and Tight.

It has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled and has no line on it. The Handle is bent slightly and one of the knobs is loose both of these can easily be remedied with a little effort.
